Thanksgiving Postmortem

So, it's 11 pm on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend, and I need a vacation. What's that you say? I just had one? Funny, between the traveling (to Armonk, then Lebanon,PA, then Reading,PA, then back to Armonk, then NYC) and the endless, unceasing EATING, I need to kick back, relax and starve myself back to my fighting weight. Seriously, there is just so much kettle corn, mimosas, turkey, stuffing, snickerdoodles (don't ask), pork fried rice, sushi, pizza, diet Coke, steak sandwiches, red wine, white wine, butternut squash lasagna, cooked carrots, malt and vinegar potato chips and roasted pork buns a man can take! And yes, I did consume at least one of each from that list over the last 96 hours, much to my chagrin. I know it's the holidays, but really, that list is pretty revolting. I'm going to bed, and hoping that when I wake up in the AM, my stomach will have at least partially returned to its original state.

I'm not particularly religious, but please...pray for my tummy.

To Do List : Guns 'n' Roses 11/10

Yes, it's Axl time again. The world's most exciting (and infuriating) lead singer hits the Garden stage this Friday probably, oh, 'bout one AM-ish, and plays the oldies and a few newbies from the soon to be released (?) new album, Chinese Democracy, the Jimmy Hoffa of rock' n' roll records. I will be joined by my esteemed colleague, Jonny Blitstein, the director of my latest opus, the charmingly titled Let Them Chirp Awhile, which just wrapped on October 24th. The film's title, by the way, is taken from an essay by Ralph Waldo Emerson that you can find here. My review of the show will appear next weekend.
