It's Official: I'm Working

As an actor, that is. I have signed on to do a film called Let Them Chirp Awhile, which is an indie film with a surprisingly good script. You can read an article about the film here. We should start shooting October 1st. It's a film about relationships with - thank the Lord - no special effects. Stay tuned for future details.

To Do List: Roger Waters

Tuesday, September 12th - at the one and only Madison Square Garden, the ultimate venue to see a rock show. OK, not the greatest in terms of acoustics, but in terms of prestige and that intangible feeling of excitement that comes from being in a house that has hosted all the greats throughout the decades. I'm a major Floydhead (is there anyone who doesn't at least like Floyd?) and am very excited by the decision to play Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety.Sure, you miss David Gilmour's vocals on some songs, but his guitar work is replaced admirably by Snowy White and Andy Fairweather-Low, and its better than no Floyd at all. Some of the songs Waters is playing - Sheep (from Animals), Have a Cigar, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, and Wish you Were Here (from, uh, Wish You Were Here) - are among my favorites. And what is a more perfect closer than Comfortably Numb, Water's deeply autobiographical song about how his handlers had to shoot him full of drugs just to get the catatonic lead singer out of his hotel room and to the gig? Now that's rock and roll...
